when i got my car it was squeaking. i replaced it and my clutch 1500-2000 miles later the new one started squeaking. (it's been awhile since it started again) so i replaced it and sent my car to the shop and got it back on friday and the new one is starting to squeak. what would cause this the guy at auto zone said that i probably got a bad one when the first one i put on started but i think that the odds of that happening twice in a row are slim

Does it squeak all the time? Or just when there's a load on it (when the clutch pedal IS NOT depressed)?
Really sounds to me like your t.o.b. retainer is bad. I had to replace mine about a year ago.

Sounds like the retainer is bad. Mine was so bad, it didn't squeak, it rattled.
