Today we were playing with the hydroboost hydraulic lines. We played with this stuff for the better part of 4 hours, only in the end to kink one of the hydraulic lines. Now I have to get one made, oh well I have a template to give to the hydraulic shop. We also figured out a way to make the original hood hinges work.

We ended up cutting off the spring mounts on the hinge

This is what it will all look like after the new hose is made, only much neater.

Here you can see the kinked hose. The hose is going to have to go straight up, then turn 90* to clear the hood hinge.

Here are the hood hinges mounted.

We put the radiator support and radiator in to help in mocking up the hoses.

We started with the electronics. We got the main engine harness installed, and the starter wiring harness installed. I secured a wiring diagram manual from the local ex-ford dealer that I go to(they lost there franchise). I am now starting on stripping all the wiring out of the harness that feeds the fron of the car. There are 2 of them one on the right and one on the left. The harness on the right side connects to the ECU, so I need to strip all the crap off it that I don't need. The harness on the left side feeds the fuse box, so I need to strip that of things I don't need. Lots of electrical fun.

The plug on top of the intake is for the right side o2 sensors.

Today I went through the wiring diagrams in the manual that the ex-ford dealer is letting me barrow. it turns out that pretty much everything on this particular harness is needed accept for a couple minor plugs that I can hide. So I am not going to hack it up.

This is the harness that connects the engine harness to the ECU. It has 3 plugs that are under the dash where the computer is. 2 are for the dash harnesses and 1 goes to the rear of the car for the fuel pump. I will use the fuel pump harness and just modify it at the pump end instead of rigging something up to work. Because the dash harness plugs are hidden under the dash board there is no need to cut them out.

The modual in the pic is the CCRM and is needed for the fuel pump and fan and some other items that are needed.

The plug connecter with the bracket and the smaller one next to it are for the engine harness. There is also another engine harness plug on there that is a bit smaller.

Then it has the plugs that connect to to the 2 fuse boxes, a ground plug, a plug for the cooling fan, those are all needed.

The ones I don't need are for the A/C and the headlights/fog lights. We decided not removing the A/C plugs just in case we wanted later on to add the A/C. The headlight/fog light wiring I can just cat back. So this harness will stay pretty much intact.

We had a very productive day today. We pulled the axle and center section out of the rear axle housing, and cleaned it up and the first coat of paint on it. Also cleaned up the brake backing plates and got the first coat of paint on them. Finished the modification to the right side hood hinge and got those cleaned up, no paint yet. Installed new nylon bushings on the window regulator and for the right quarter window, lubed up the tracks and checked for proper function. Installed the outside window fuzzies. Put the final coat of paint on the rear intirior panels. Installed the new wind lace on the headliner, and pillar moldings. Installed the shaker hood scoop on the motor. Holy Crap that looks awesome.

Rear end housing.

Rear quarter windows installed. The chrome really sucks, but I will have to live with it for a while.

The kick panals. We only got 1 painted due to rain.

Here is the black wind lace. It covers the edges of the headliner. I will never install another headliner again, next time I will pay some one to do it.

Last but not least, the shaker hood scoop. This just gives me a woody.
