what are you wanting to do with your car?

It's not a daily, it may become one oneday, but I'd like to have something in it to back shit up, and to hold its own. I might spray it, and in that case i'd atleast put some good pistons at the very least. It's just a fun car, thats all. Don't want full out drag, because i want to take it to auto X, road course, and drag regardless.

just aim for 300rwhp, there aint many cars that would take you in reality when you have that. plus, itll still be able to run on an autocross course. that being said, go for the stock style rebuild, use some good pistons, and call it a day. if you wanna get nuts put you a little juice on it

Thats what i was thinking. Might just do a basic 306, forged rods and pistons, run close to 10:1 with the TFS or edelbrock heads. good intake, custom cam. Rebuilt tranny, good drivetrain. Then spray the hell out of it at the drag races, but still have plenty of power at the road course etc.

build it 30 over, forged rods and pistons, good heads and intake and call it done then. Then you have ebough to fix your tranny and beat the hell out of the car and still be able to run on pumpgas.

Thats not bad. Everything to rebuild it, with forged pistons that will keep a good compression ratio. I figure a 150 shot on forged pistons, stock rods and crank, will net close to 450 on a well built 300-350 horse 302. Running a wet kit i don't see it being much of a problem with the stock rods for now.
